Australia and Ukraine Are Now Exchanging Business Delegations

A delegation of 26 leading Ukrainian business people made an introductory visit to Sydney on June 6. They were hosting a business forum at the Four Points by Sheraton in Darling Harbour.

His Excellency Valentin V. Adomaytis, Ukraine's Ambassador, and Mr. Serhiy Bilohub, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine, attended the meeting to demonstrate the great interest the Ukrainian government has for developing business links with Australia.

The visit of the Ukrainian delegation is a part of the Ukrainian integration project into the world economy, which is held under the control of the Ukrainian Prime Minister and government. The delegation represented the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Ukraine).

ICC Ukraine is the most respected and well-established business organisation in Ukraine. It is a non-governmental independent organisation whose board includes past and current members of Ukrainian Parliament, the adviser to the Vice-Prime Minister, ministers and deputy ministers.

Mr. Leonid Kravchuk, an ex-President of Ukraine, holds the position of Chairman of Coordinate Council on Foreign Trade and Investment. Professor Volodymyr Schelkunov, the ICC Ukraine Chairman, has appointed as their official representative in Australia Mr. Dmitry Greku. Mr. Greku is the Australia-Ukraine Trade Mission (AUTM) Managing Director and Editor of the Business Resource & Lifestyle Magazine.

The NSW Department of State and Regional Development supports AUTM as well. Now, more Ukrainian seminars and forums are being planned. Plus, there will be an upcoming visit of Australian business people to Ukraine.
